Alex de Minaur’s Grand Triumph: Wins 2024 UTS Grand Final in London

The latest tennis results are in, and Alex de Minaur has capped off his stellar year with a commanding victory at the 2024 UTS Grand Final in London. Held at the Copper Box Arena, the event drew over 21,000 fans who witnessed the Australian world No. 9 dominate Holger Rune in the final match of this fast-paced, innovative tournament.

De Minaur, known for his relentless energy on the court, secured his second UTS trophy with a straight-set win over Rune, posting scores of 14-8, 14-11, and 16-10. The unique UTS format features eight-minute quarters, single serves, and “bonus cards” to spice up the action. “It was a perfect weekend,” De Minaur said. “The atmosphere was electric, and I’m thrilled with my performance.”

The tournament also marked a significant financial milestone for De Minaur, who earned an impressive £625,241—his largest single-event payday. The victory comes as a crowning moment in a year where he reached three Grand Slam quarterfinals, defeated Novak Djokovic for the first time, and broke into the ATP Top 10 despite battling a mid-season hip injury.

With the tennis season over, De Minaur is shifting gears to enjoy the holiday season with his girlfriend, British No. 1 Katie Boulter. “Katie’s cooking, and she’s a great cook,” he shared, adding that he’s looking forward to a cozy Christmas celebration in London before heading back to Australia.

Holger Rune, though defeated, praised the UTS format, saying, “It suits my game. I’ve made two finals in my three appearances, and I love the vibe.”

As De Minaur looks ahead to 2025, this latest triumph sets the tone for even greater achievements. “This season has been my best yet, but I’m ready to raise the bar,” he said.
