Djere Outlasts Top Seed Cerundolo in a Three-Set Thriller
Serbia’s Laslo Djere pulled off a stunning win against Argentina’s top-seeded Francisco Cerundolo, prevailing 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. Djere came out firing, dominating the first set with powerful groundstrokes and precision on serve.
However, Cerundolo, known for his resilience on clay, fought back in the second set, breaking Djere to level the match. But the Serbian remained composed in the decider, breaking Cerundolo early and holding his nerve to seal a spot in the final.
Baez Powers Past Ugo Carabelli in an All-Argentine Clash
In the other semifinal, third seed Sebastian Baez showcased his clay-court mastery with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win over fellow Argentine Camilo Ugo Carabelli.
Baez was in control from the start, racing through the first set, but Ugo Carabelli responded in the second, using deep, heavy shots to push Baez on the defensive. In the final set, Baez regained his rhythm, breaking twice to secure victory and book his place in the final.
