Jannik Sinner cemented his place as the king of Melbourne Park, delivering a dominant performance to defeat Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3 in the Australian Open 2025 final. With this victory, the 23-year-old World No. 1 secured his third Grand Slam title and proved once again why he’s a force to be reckoned with on hard courts.
In a clash of the ATP’s top two-ranked players, Sinner’s flawless serving set the tone, as he didn’t face a single break point throughout the match—a feat last achieved by Rafael Nadal at the 2017 US Open. Despite Zverev’s resilience, particularly in the second-set tiebreak, Sinner’s precision and aggression were unrelenting.
During the trophy presentation, Sinner dedicated the win to his team and coach Darren Cahill, acknowledging their hard work. “We worked a lot to be in this position. It’s amazing to share this moment with all of you,” he said.
For Zverev, this marks his third Grand Slam final loss. Though disappointed, the German remained gracious in defeat, praising Sinner and promising to keep striving for his first major title.
With 10 consecutive wins over Top 10 players, Sinner’s hard-court dominance continues to grow, solidifying his status as tennis’s new star.
