Top seed Jessica Pegula proved why she’s one of the best in the world, defeating Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. Pegula started strong, dominating the opening set with powerful groundstrokes and aggressive play.
Tomljanovic, however, responded in the second set, breaking Pegula and leveling the match. But in the deciding set, Pegula regained control, showing her experience and consistency to close out the match and secure a spot in the final.
Kessler Stuns Minnen to Reach Maiden WTA Final
In the other semifinal, Makenna Kessler continued her dream run with a solid 7-5, 6-4 win over Belgium’s Greet Minnen. The 24-year-old American displayed fearless tennis, taking advantage of key moments to outplay her higher-ranked opponent.
Kessler’s aggressive shot-making and strong mental composure helped her edge past Minnen in straight sets, marking a career milestone as she advanced to her first-ever WTA final.
