“Naomi Osaka Embraces Freedom and Motherhood in 2025 Harper’s Bazaar Cover”

Naomi Osaka, the former World No. 1 and four-time Grand Slam champion, is stepping into 2025 with a fresh perspective. Gracing the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Australia January issue, Osaka reflects on her journey of self-discovery, mental health advocacy, and newfound freedom.

In an exclusive interview, Osaka opens up about breaking free from societal expectations and the intense pressures of professional tennis. “Freedom is no longer caring what others think,” she says, emphasizing the shift in her priorities after becoming a mother. For Osaka, joy now lies in spending time with her daughter Shai and being a role model. “As long as I am there for her, no outside voice matters,” she adds.

The tennis superstar also touches on her love for the game, now guided by one simple question: “Win or lose, am I still really loving playing the game?”

Osaka continues her mental health advocacy as part of Maybelline’s Brave Together campaign, encouraging others to embrace their authentic selves. With less pressure to be perfect, she’s using her voice to inspire those still searching for their own.
