The Cincinnati Open women’s singles Round of 16 delivered a mix of dominance, precision, and resilience as four players booked their spots in the quarterfinals.
Coco Gauff thrilled the home crowd with a commanding 6–2, 6–4 win over Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti. The defending US Open champion dictated from start to finish, mixing powerful groundstrokes with quick net approaches to seal the match in straight sets.
In another standout performance, Jasmine Paolini outclassed former French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova 6–1, 6–2. The Italian was rock-solid from the baseline, breaking Krejcikova multiple times and never allowing her to settle into any rhythm.

Veronika Kudermetova also punched her ticket to the last eight, defeating Magda Linette 6–4, 6–3. The Russian’s heavy serve and deep returns proved too much for the Polish No.31 seed.
The most dramatic match came on the Grandstand Court, where Varvara Gracheva battled past Eva Seidel in three sets, 6–2, 1–6, 6–1. After dropping the second set heavily, the French player regrouped with a dominant decider, showing both grit and tactical adjustments.
With this quartet advancing, the Cincinnati quarterfinals promise an exciting mix of proven stars and rising contenders, each eyeing the trophy just a week before the US Open.
