Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics lifted the 2025 Winston-Salem Open trophy after edging past the Netherlands’ Botic van de Zandschulp in a nail-biting final on Saturday. Fucsovics won 6–3, 7–6(3) to secure his third career ATP title and his first-ever on hard court.
The 33-year-old started strong, dominating the baseline rallies to take the first set 6–3. In the second set, he raced to a 5–1 lead and even held a championship point at 5–2, but nerves crept in as Van de Zandschulp mounted a spirited comeback. The Dutchman pushed the set into a tiebreak, but Fucsovics’ experience shone through as he closed out the match 7–6(3).
For Van de Zandschulp, it was a bittersweet end. He had shown great resilience earlier in the tournament, including a rain-affected semifinal day where he battled through two matches to reach the final.
With this victory, Fucsovics not only adds a new trophy to his cabinet but also sends a strong message ahead of the US Open, proving that his game still thrives on the biggest stages.
