Alex de Minaur Celebrates 300th Career Win with Commanding Vienna Open Victory
Alex de Minaur marked a major career milestone on Monday by claiming his 300th tour-level victory at the 2025 Vienna Open.
The Australian star produced a commanding performance to defeat home favorite Jurij Rodionov 6-4, 6-1 in the opening round of the ATP 500 event.
De Minaur became only the second player born in 1999 or later to reach 300 wins, joining Italian sensation Jannik Sinner in this elite club.
He expressed pride in the achievement, saying it was a special moment in his career that reflects years of consistent hard work.
“This milestone feels amazing because you rarely get a chance to pause and appreciate your journey,” said De Minaur after the match.
The 26-year-old dominated from start to finish, converting key break points in the first set before cruising through the second with sharp precision.
Rodionov fought hard early but struggled with unforced errors as De Minaur controlled the rallies and closed the match in just 80 minutes.
This victory follows De Minaur’s 50th win of the season in Shanghai, marking his most successful year since turning professional in 2016.
He currently holds the second-highest number of ATP wins in 2025, trailing only Carlos Alcaraz’s impressive tally of 67 victories.
De Minaur’s steady rise is evident, as nearly two-thirds of his 300 career wins have come within the last four years on the tour.
His year-by-year progress shows remarkable consistency, with 51 victories already in 2025 and several deep runs at major ATP 500 events.
Next, the world No. 3 seed will face either Camilo Ugo Carabelli or Austrian wild card Filip Misolic in the second round.
If he advances, De Minaur will secure his 11th quarterfinal appearance of the year, all achieved at the ATP 500 level or above.
With his confidence peaking, the Australian is also closing in on a spot at the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin next month.
He currently sits seventh in the PIF ATP Live Race to Turin, just 125 points behind sixth-placed American Ben Shelton.
The Vienna Open has been a proving ground for De Minaur’s form, highlighting his relentless work ethic and hunger for continuous improvement.
His ability to adapt quickly to indoor conditions and maintain composure under pressure has been a cornerstone of his recent success.
Fans and analysts alike praised his discipline, footwork, and tactical awareness during his milestone victory in the Austrian capital.
With this win, De Minaur solidifies his reputation as one of the most consistent and determined players on the ATP Tour today.
As he continues his journey, his sights remain firmly set on qualifying for the ATP Finals and adding another title to his 2025 campaign.
