Djokovic Teams Up with Murray: A Surprising New Chapter

In a move that stunned the tennis world, Novak Djokovic has enlisted former rival Andy Murray as his coach for the 2024 season, starting with the Australian Open. Speaking in Buenos Aires ahead of a farewell match for Juan Martín del Potro, Djokovic revealed why the partnership feels natural.

“Andy knows my game and my challenges deeply,” said Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion. “We’ve shared the biggest stages of tennis, but our friendship now outweighs our rivalry.”

Murray, a three-time Grand Slam winner and Olympic gold medalist, retired in August but accepted Djokovic’s offer after a few days of consideration.

“It’s exciting for tennis,” Djokovic added. “We’re the same age and have faced each other 36 times. Now, we’re teaming up to prepare for the future.”

Djokovic aims to claim a record-extending 11th Australian Open title under Murray’s guidance, marking a new era for both legends.
