Canadian tennis star Félix Auger-Aliassime produced a clinical performance to advance to the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open, defeating France’s Benjamin Bonzi 6-4, 6-3 in just over an hour.
Auger-Aliassime’s booming serve was the key weapon of the match, delivering nine aces and winning nearly 90% of his first-serve points. He was equally ruthless on return, converting all three of his break-point chances to keep Bonzi under constant pressure.
The first set was tightly contested until Auger-Aliassime secured a late break to close it out 6-4. In the second, the Canadian maintained his momentum, breaking early and controlling the baseline exchanges to seal the set 6-3 without facing a single break point.
